Careers

Graduates of the Georgetown Linguistics Department go on to careers in a variety of fields, including consulting, technology, and government. The department supports current students’ career journeys by providing guidance, resources, and opportunities to network.

The Proseminar course, (available for both undergraduate and graduate students), guides students through the job application process. The class provides an overview of different career options, showcasing the many ways in which linguists support the contemporary workforce. The department also hosts various career events throughout the semester, including the yearly Linguistics Career Mixers.
