Call for papers: GURT 2025 Language and Food
The annual meeting of the Georgetown University Round Table on Languages and Linguistics — GURT 2025 –will be held February 28-March 2, 2025 at Georgetown University. The theme for GURT 2025 is Language and Food 🍐. For more information about GURT 2025, please see here.
GURT 2025 will bring together diverse scholars whose work explores intersections between language and food. These scholars include our distinguished plenary speakers:

- Elinor Ochs and Tamar Kremer-Sadlik (University of California, Los Angeles)
- Alla Tovares (Howard University)
- Camilla Vásquez (University of South Florida)
The Organizing Committee of GURT 2025 welcomes abstracts for individual papers, posters, and colloquiums that engage with any aspect of the relationship between language and food. Submissions must be complete by November 18, 2024 (11:59pm Eastern) via Easychair.
