Dr. Brandon Waldon and His Team File Amicus Brief in Supreme Court Gun Regulation Case

Dr. Brandon Waldon, along with scholars from Georgetown, Brandeis, and Stanford, has filed an amicus brief for an upcoming Supreme Court case on gun regulation. The case focuses on whether federal law’s definition of “firearm” includes disassembled kits sold online. Their research used arguments from linguistic theory, as well as data-driven empirical methods including a survey experiment and a large-scale analysis of gun kit marketing materials & customer reviews. An associated journal article  by the group has been accepted for publication in the Harvard Journal on Legislation .
