Congratulations to the two winners of the 2014 ACTFL/NFMLTA/MLJ Dissertation Support grant competition! They are AMY I. YOUNG, of the University of Minnesota, with her research on “Linguistic diversity, student interaction and differentiated scaffolding: Student oral proficiency in grade three Spanish immersion,” and SHOKO SASAYAMA, Georgetown University,with her project “The effects of task design on cognitive task complexity and task performance: A study of English and Japanese learners.” Each awardee will receive dissertation support in the amount of $ 2,500.
